Thanksgiving & Black Friday

Hello everybody!

I read an article the other day on Wikipedia and it talks about Thanksgiving and Black Friday.

I thought you might be interested in because there are special offers.

Thanksgiving Day is popularly known, it  is one of the oldest fesivals. Thanksgiving is a day for families and friends in England and the USA to get togehter for a special meal. Thanksgiving Day is a time for many people to give thanks for what they have. Most government offices, businesses, schools and other organizations are closed on Thanksgiving Day. Many offices and businesses allow staff to have a four-day weekend so these offices and businesses are also closed on the Friday after Thanksgiving Day –Black Friday. Public transit systems do not usually operate on their regular timetables.

Black Friday is the Friday following Thanksgiving Day, it is the fourth Thursday of November, often regarded as the beginning of the Christmas shopping season. Black Friday is celebrated in England the USA and Canada. Black Friday is not a federal holiday, but California and some other states observe "The Day After Thanksgiving" as a holiday for state government employees, sometimes in lieu of another federal holiday.

For many years, it was common for retailers to open at 6:00 a.m., but in the late 2000s many had crept to 5:00 or even 4:00. This was taken to a new extreme in 2011, when several retailers opened at midnight for the first time. In 2012, several retailers announced that they would open most of their stores at 8:00 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day (except in states where opening on Thanksgiving. Black Friday shopping is known for attracting aggressive crowds, with annual reports of assaults, shootings, and throngs of people trampling on other shoppers in an attempt to get the best deal on a product before supplies run out.

The Monday after Thanksgiving and Black Friday is called Cyber Monday. Cyber Monday is the online version of Black Friday, so on Cyber Monday you can shop online.

What shocked me most was that the people on Black Friday really fight to get into the shop. On this day they are really impolite, they didn't help anybody because they all want to shop. If you lie on the floor, nobody cares...

I wasn't aware of the fact that they are so brutally on Black Friday.

Yours,
Nadja
