On November 5th people in England celebrat the faile plot from guy fawkes.
A small group under the leadship of Robert Catesby wanted to blow the house of parliament and King James I. on november 5th 1604. They wanted to kill King James I., because thei thought that he made it really different to live, under King James I. if you are a Catholic. So Guy Fawkes and some other plotters putted 36 barrels of gunpowder into the cellar under the house of lord.Lord Montegle wrote on october 26th a letter to King James I. He wrote in thie letter, that he shouldn't come to the house of parliament on november 5th, the opening day.
The plan failed because the plotters were betayed.
And since then the English people Guy Fawkes Day! At the evening the Englich people do bonfires and fire firework in the sky.
Guy Fawkes Day is also called Bonfire Night.
