Hello everybody!

I was reading an article the other day in the online edition of the “BBC News” and it talks about China.

I thought you might be interested because energy consumption is a topic which concerns everybody.

Basically what it says is that China is one of the largest investors on earth in almost every sector. It is also mentioned that China disposes about $ 4 trillion in various sovereign wealth funds. And it also says that the annual Chinese investments overseas have grown eightfold over the past 10 years.

What puzzled me most was that China has made large investments in individual companies and projects. Most of them are in the energy sector.

The resources for energy China needs are low. What astonished me most was that they have to triple the amount by 2050 if they won’t cut down their consumption of energy.

What do you think will happen if China isn’t able to triple the amount?

Yours,
Nadja
